Concrete production is emissions intensive, can deplete natural resources (aggregates like sand and gravel) and leach dangerous additives into our environment.
Eco Choice Aotearoa’s standard for concrete aims to minimise these impacts by requiring companies to:

Use cement replacements (supplementary cementitious materials);
Integrate recycled aggregates and other materials into concrete mixes;
Implement energy efficiencies during production;
Responsibly source materials.

Products covered by the standard include:

Ready-mixed concrete
Pre-cast concrete
Concrete blocks, pavers and pipes
Dry-bagged mortars and plasters

This standard is recognised by the Australian and New Zealand Green Building Councils.
